Clambering shrub or tree to 4m with serrated leaves to 80mm x 35mm, sparsely pubescent & scabrous above, tomentose beneath. Monoecious flowers with male spikes 80mm long with bracts, reddish flowers or white with red stigmas. Fruit to 12mm wide, in fruit bracts to 12mm wide.
