A woody twiner, perennial herb or subshrub, grey downy branches. 12-14 mucronate leaflets 16mm long downy above pubescent beneath. 2-5 flowers in fascicles, dark red or purple to 15mm long or terminal racemes to 60mm long with 6mm long bracts & bracteoles, toothed calyx 3mm, purple corolla to 12mm, fruit a pubescent pod to 55mm long x 12mm
